Dumfries and Galloway Mobile Library Customer Celebrates 100th Birthday

Mrs Thomson celebrated her 100th birthday on Wednesday (23 September) and was presented with flowers by library mobile drivers Linda Tennant and Iain Morrison. Mrs Thomson also received a signed copy of a Large Print book by Diane Allen on behalf of the Dumfries and Galloway Library Service.
Mrs Thomson is a keen reader and uses the mobile service,she said “I really enjoy it when the mobile library visits, they are so good to me”.

Iain Morrison said “It’s a pleasure to visit Rosie, she borrows two Large Print books every visit and is delighted to see us”.

Councillor Tom McAughtrie, chairman of the Council’s Community and Customer Services Committee said: “Helping protect our most vulnerable and our elderly people is a key priority for the Council. It is great to see readers of all ages using our library service. Dumfries and Galloway Council invested in a mobile library to help provide a service to a wide variety of users. I appreciate the dedication shown by our staff, above and beyond their duties to all our customers.”
