Kerr Brian Military Medal reverse crop

During the centenary commemorations of World War One the museum will continue to display local stories. James Kerr was born in Dumfries in 1889. During World War One he joined the 5th battalion KOSB (Dumfries) then moved to the 4th battalion KOSB (Borderers) and was awarded the prestigious Military Medal. James’ medal was rediscovered by his family almost 70 years later and his story was told to us by his grandson Brian Kerr.

Canadian Jenny Ritter and her band made a huge impact when they made their Celtic Connections debut in 2014.........and........ Folk Radio UK today published it's Top Folk Albums of 2015 list and Jenny's album, Raised By Wolves, is included as one of their favourite releases. This will be a really nice event as part of the Folk in the Foyer series.
