POLICE NAME LOCAL THORNHILL WOMAN AS VICTIM OF FATAL A76 ROAD CRASH

Police Scotland are now able to name the woman killed in the two vehicle road crash on the A76 road this morning as 24 year old Zoe Clark from Carronbridge, Thornhill.

She was the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa car which was in collision with a Scottish Ambulance Service ambulance at around 0840 hours today, on the A76 road approximately 5 miles south of Mennock.

The two ambulance crew and two other people who were in the ambulance were all taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. The driver of the ambulance and the two people were treated for minor injuries and the second ambulance crew member was treated for a head injury.

The road was at the scene is still closed to allow for a full crash investigation to take place. One of the two people in the rear of the ambulance, a female, had earlier been involved in a road crash further north on the A76. She was being transported to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, accompanied by her husband, when the second crash happened.

The Procurator Fiscal has been made aware of the circumstances.

 

The Road is now reopened after being closed for investigation most of the day !
