POLICE SEEK WITNESSES AS THEY RELEASE NAME OF MAN KILLED IN A75 COLLISION

FATAL ROAD CRASH

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to a one vehicle fatal road crash which happened on the A75 road, near to the junction with the B7020 road, just west of Annan at around 1530 hours on Tuesday 25 November 2014. The vehicle, a silver coloured Ford Focus C-max was travelling west at the scene when it left the road and collided with trees. The driver, 67 year old James McGregor from Darlison Avenue in Dumfries died at the scene. Four passengers, family members, were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where they were treated for minor injures and later released.

A full crash scene investigation took place and the road was closed for about four hours. Diversions were put in place. The Procurator Fiscal has been informed.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been on the A75 road near the scene of this crash to get in touch through 101 if that have any information which may assist in the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
