DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY PRIMARY SCHOOLS BADMINTON FINALS RESULTS

The Dumfries and Galloway Regional Primary School Badminton Finals for children aged Primary 6 and 7 was held at The David Keswick Centre on Sunday 22 March.

The competition which is organised by Active Schools and Community Sport for Dumfries and Galloway Council brought together the best eight players from Annandale and Eskdale, Nithsdale, Stewartry and Wigtownshire. The finals which were supported by a number of local coaches and volunteers included a round robin and finals with the first two placed players in each group progressing to the national finals in Perth later in the year.

After a morning of high quality badminton the four category results were as follows: –

Councillor Tom McAughtrie, Chair of the Council’s Community and Customer Services Committee said;
“It is great to see a revival in the sport of badminton in Dumfries and Galloway and the number of young people playing and competing is very encouraging. There are now so many opportunities for children at every level from participation through to competition and it’s is great to see our region represented at national events”
