Wildlife film festival offers young people opportunities to play a key role in a new festival and learn about events management.

We are looking for interns who are primarily interested in Event Management and Event Marketing however due to the nature of Wild Film Festival Scotland we will touch on Photography, Film making and Social Media.

Young people in Dumfries and Galloway are being offered the exciting opportunity to join the team which is organising the first ever Wild Film Festival Scotland.

WFFS, which takes place in Dumfries from 24-26 March 2017, is the UK’s first public festival celebrating the best in wildlife film and photography.

As part of its commitment to the region WFFS is offering young people practical work experience that will help them develop their future careers.

The main opportunities are in event management and event marketing but there may also be the chance to get involved with social media, filmmaking and photography.

Ed Forrest, Project Manager for the Southern Upland Partnership which has led the partnership of local wildlife groups which set up WFFS, said: “Our internships are designed to give young people the practical experience they need to help them in their careers. They are especially good for anyone who would like to work in the country’s thriving events and festivals sector.

“And WFFS is a really exciting project to be involved with. We will be welcoming visitors from all over the UK to enjoy some of the best wildlife films in the world, see stunning photography and hear a series of inspirational speakers.”

Many of the films will be shown at the Robert Burns Film Centre in Dumfries while the nearby Gracefield Arts Centre will host the British Wildlife Photographer Exhibition.
