Quarrymen’s Arts Centre Announces New Programming Team

Since its launch as part of national architectural heritage event Doors Open Weekend in September 2021, The Quarrymen’s Arts Centre has hosted a regular, eclectic live music programme and a number of theatre productions, including most recently, a production in association with this year’s Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival.

This Creetown based centre, which sits proudly in the heart of the local community, have recently reached out in a search for a new programming team for their upcoming year and they are delighted to announce that Dumfries and Galloway based theatre company Bunbury Banter have been selected for the role. This partnership heralds the start of an exciting chapter for both organisations and a new direction for this local theatre company.

The Trustees of the Quarrymen’s Arts Centre said:

“The Board of Trustees have always realised the potential of our historical building to return to its position in the heart of the community. The refurbishment of St Joseph’s Church into the Quarrymen’s Arts Centre was only the beginning however and the board are delighted to begin this new partnership with Bunbury Banter who as guest programmers will help us to fulfil a vision for QAC as a contemporary and intimate performing space to be enjoyed by all. We are excited and look forward to the year ahead with Phil and Ali “.

The Quarrymen’s Arts Centre is the impressive home of Creetown Silver Band, a local brass band with a proud history dating back to 1880. A magnificent, granite-built former church the venue is owned by Creetown Building Preservation Trust and recently underwent a full refurbishment to transform the building to a vibrant, contemporary performing arts venue, with tasteful echoes of its rich quarrying and musical heritage.
