STAFF working within Galloway Community Hospital’s Emergency Department have won an award recognising their incredible efforts.
The team were declared the winners of the Blue Light Award at the Awarding Wigtownshire event which took place at the weekend.
The ceremony was held at The North West Castle Hotel on Saturday evening.
Senior Charge Nurse Angela Marshall said: “The awards shine a light on the incredible work carried out locally by individuals, businesses, community groups, charities and everyone in between who make Wigtownshire amazing.
“I was so proud of the Emergency Department team for being nominated and then going on to win the accolade.
“There is a whole team approach in the department and all staff are making a huge difference to deliver a first class service.
“We were awarded under the Emergency Services category and were up against other emergency service teams.”
