A new strategy to support carers to continue to care in good health and wellbeing, and to lead their own life whilst caring is being developed for Dumfries & Galloway.
Unpaid carers are one of the top ten priority areas identified within Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership’s Strategic Plan for 2016 – 2019.
Unpaid carers are a vital part of health and social care in Dumfries and Galloway with 9% of people living in the region caring for someone and 29% of carers providing in excess of 50 hours of care every week.
To make sure we get the plan for carers right we need to understand what matters most to them. Therefore, carers of all ages across Dumfries & Galloway are encouraged to complete an anonymous online survey available at www.dg-change.org.uk. The survey will be live between Monday 26 September and Monday 31 October 2016.The results of the survey will be published on www.dg-change.org.uk by the end of November 2016.
If you need help to complete this survey or if you have any carer related questions, please call 01387 246941 or email email@example.com
Linda Owen who is leading on the development of the plan for carers said; ‘It is vitally important for carers of all ages to talk to us about what matters to them. The information gained from the survey will influence and shape the development of a new plan to support carers in the future.”
