Local farmer, Ryan Muir is trying to raise as much money as possible for the neo natal unit at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary by organising an illuminated charity tractor and truck run on Saturday the 27th of November, starting in Lockerbie at 5.30pm and heading to Dumfries then on to Johnstonebridge and back to Lockerbie .
Ryan would love to see as many tractors and trucks getting involved as possible.
Ryan and his tractor where at Lockerbie Christmas lights switch on last weekend, where he gave Santa a lift through the high street and also raised £387 doing a tombola and selling raffle ticket.

Ryans said “My daughter was born 9 weeks premature and spent her first 8 weeks in hospital. My niece was also 13 weeks premature and spent 6 months in hospital without the staff and all their sources we may not have been so lucky to still have them here today if it wasn’t for all their help at the start. We cannot thank the staff enough for all their help for not only helping his daughter but just being there for them when they needed them too in the hardest of days!!
The reason they are trying to raise money is to help these tiny little warriors and their families at what should be a very exciting time but a very hard and emotional at the same time! The staff at the Neo Natal unit are angels in uniforms they go far and beyond helping our babies while supporting their families in whatever way they can!
There are 60,000 babies born premature every year in the UK plus the babies who need that extra bit of help & support from the neonatal unit with their supporting medical equipment, medicine’s & staff!”
