Indecent exposures – Lochmaben

Police Scotland officers are making enquiries into two cases of indecent exposure which happened in Lochmaben over the past few weeks. In the first incident which happened in Castle Street in the town, sometime between 0700 hours and 0800 hours on Tuesday 30 June 2015 an elderly lady was confronted by the following described man who exposed himself to her. The man is only described as being about 19/20 years of age and was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a grey hooded top.

In the second incident, a woman was sitting in a parked car in Princes Street in the town at around 0645 hours on Friday 10 July 2015 when a man appeared at the car, pulled down his trousers and exposed himself to her. He is described as being about 19 years of age, around 6’ tall, slim build, dark hair, wearing light blue tracksuit bottoms and a grey hooded top.

Local Area Commander Inspector Gordon McKnight said “this is an unusual type of crime for this area and to have had two similar reports within a matter of days, with a similar description of the culprit and at similar times of the day does indicate that they may be linked. We are appealing to anyone who can help us trace this man to get in touch with us on 101 if they can help.
