Police Scotland officers are investigating a theft of about 30 railway sleepers from a site at Crawfordton, Moniaive, Thornhill. The theft took place sometime between n 1400 hours and 1600 hours on Thursday 13 October 2016.
Constable Scott Graham at Thornhill said “this would have taken a fair bit of effort and large vehicle to carry away these heavy sleepers, which are valued at around £1000. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area last Thursday if they were in the Moniaive area and saw or heard anything suspicious. Police can be contacted through the 101 number.
