Energy developer Vattenfall was in Dumfries last week connecting with local businesses at the Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of Commerce’s Business Exhibition.
Project Manager Matthew Bacon and Regional Liaison Officer Carol Kane were on hand at the Crichton event to highlight opportunities for local businesses to join Vattenfall’s south west Scotland supply chains and encourage more Dumfries and Galloway-based businesses to supply the renewables sector.
Independent research has shown that Vattenfall’s local approach as they build South Kyle Wind Farm north of Carsphairn has generated £44million of spend with businesses based in Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, with pipeline projects such as Quantans Hill Wind Farm offering a potential further £7million boost to the local economy.
