Black Roses

July 25 @ 7:30 pm - July 27 @ 9:00 pm

Have you ever felt like an outcast? Have you ever judged a book by its cover? Have you ever witnessed or experienced prejudice? If the answer is yes…

Bunbury Banter is producing Black Roses at the Theatre Royal this July. Come along and support the local young people both onstage and backstage.

Black Roses is a moving and thought-provoking play tackling hate crime and prejudice. It was written by Simon Armitage, the next Poet Laureate, as an elegy to Sophie Lancaster, who was brutally murdered in 2007. This youth production from the Bunbury Banter Theatre Company will be presented alongside reflections created by local people exploring their own experiences and thoughts surrounding these issues.

This production is being kindly supported by the Holywood Trust and D&G Arts Live in partnership with the Theatre Royal and Soul Soup.
