New Year, New Writing – Creative Writing Workshop
January 19 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm£7 – £12
New year, new writing!
Reawaken your creative brain after Christmas with this relaxed mixture of writing exercises and games.
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to:
– Develop a collection of new character and plot ideas
– Network with other local writers
– Produce short pieces of writing which you can then go on to develop in your own time
Suitable for all levels including beginners.
January is traditionally a time to celebrate fresh beginnings and the start of a new year, but it can also be a difficult time of year for getting your creative brain working. With the Christmas celebrations and excitement over for another year, the remaining months of winter can seem to last forever. While some people enjoy the dark evenings and treat them as an excuse to get on with indoors projects like writing, knitting or reading, others can find it hard to motivate themselves – especially if it’s cold and grey outside!
In this lively workshop, reawaken your creative brain with the opportunity to try a mixture of writing exercises and games. You’ll need to think fast and write even faster – but don’t worry, it’s just for fun! The focus will be on the creation of new ideas, not the production of something polished or “perfect”. This workshop is aimed at writers of all levels and genres, including total beginners. There’s no pressure to share your work, although you will get the opportunity. All you need is an open mind and your favourite notepad and pen.
