ROBERT BURNS CENTRE FILM THEATRE, DUMFRIES & MOSTLY GHOSTLY EXPLORE CRIME & PUNISHMENT

On Friday 5 September 2014, the Robert Burns Centre Film Theatre in Dumfries will present The Execution of Mary Timney, the harrowing story of the last woman to be publicly executed in Scotland.

This filmed performance of the play marks the 25th anniversary of its production and the 150th anniversary of the hanging.

Adapted from Tom Pow’s radio play, it features a strong ensemble cast of local actors.  The previous screening of the film was sold out.   

The film will be introduced by Kathleen Cronie of Mostly Ghostly with a short talk about Mary Timney.  After the film, Mostly Ghostly will give a 45min guided walk in the town centre, suitable for all abilities, will focussing on the history of crime and punishment in Dumfries.
