● Hunt is on for young superstar DJs to spin the decks

To help create the perfect atmosphere, organisers are also on the lookout for three young superstar DJs to spin the decks and keep people moving while the roller disco is in full swing.

If you’re a budding DJ willing to spin the decks and keep the tunes pumping, then this could be the perfect chance to showcase your talents.

Graham Main, Executive Producer of Big Burns Supper which is currently running the Loreburn Hall, said: “We are having a lot of fun thinking about different ways the hall can be used, and this idea came from feedback about how the hall was used in the past.

“We ran a Roller Disco in the Spiegeltent in 2014 and it was a lot of fun. It will be great to bring people together to rekindle the past and make new memories. “ Katriona Bailey, from Dumfries, used to go to the Roller Disco in the 1980s when she was a teenager.

“The first time I went I was a bit scared,” she recalled, “so I just skated around. But it was fab; loud 80s music, flashing lights and loads of people just skating around and around.

“It was huge fun.”
