Galloway Poet Wins Scots Language Awards 2020

The Scots Language Awards took place online on Saturday 24 October 2020, Galloway poet Stuart Paterson won ‘Scots Writer o the Year’.

Stuart told DGWGO “Sae it’s fair tae say Ah’m no jist chuffed & bee-heidit wi thon but Ah’m byornar gratefu tae aa thon whae votit fir me. Wirds cannae really pit owre jist hoo chuffed & gratefu Ah’m are. Thank ye that much, & thank ye faur ayont yon. It means that much tae me tae hae sic support & freenship. Amongst the other winners was popular comedian Janey Godley who throughout lockdown has been very popular online with her videos voice overs of Scotlands First Minister, Nicola Sturgeos COVID briefings.
