Kirkcudbright Burns Club Present Primary School With New Trophy

A brand new trophy to be competed for at Kirkcudbright Primary School Burns competition was handed over by Kirkcudbright Burns Club this week.

 The trophy will be awarded to the primary 7 pupil who wins is the Burns recital competition on 10th February. President Alistair Crawford said ” We are delighted to be supporting the next generation of Burnsians . Kirkcudbright Burns Club have been associated with the poetry competitions at the school for a number of years and are keen to continue this”.

Judges at the competition will be members of Kirkcudbright Burns Club. Also pictured are Ashley Jamieson, Graham Finch, Vice President of Kirkcudbright Burns Cub, Jack Baty and teacher James Flannighan. Kirkcudbright Burns Club holds its first Burns Supper in three years on 25th January at Arden House Hotel in the town.
