TOP CELEB CHEF HEADING TO WIGTOWN AND BLADNOCH FOOD FESTIVAL

Wigtown and Bladnoch Food Festival welcome celebrity chef

We are delighted to announce that award winning chef Mark Greenaway has agreed to complete the lineup at the Wigtown & Bladnoch Food Festival cookery demonstrations . With a passion for Scottish ingredients, Mark uses only the very best local, seasonal produce, transforming them with modern techniques.

Mark represented Scotland on BBC2’s Great British Menu in 2012 and 2013. He writes a weekly column for the Edinburgh Evening News and writes a fortnightly column for the heraldscotland.com’s Food and Drink section.

Amongst his many awards are a 3 AA Rosettes for Outstanding Cuisine and a ‘Recommended’ in the Good Food Guide 2015.

As well as two hugely popular restaurants in Edinburgh, Mark is involved with several charities and he continuously works with Young Scot to bring school-leavers aged between 16 and 18 into his kitchen for work experience as well as hosting regular stages for chefs from other restaurants.

The organisers said:
“We are delighted that Mark has agreed to join us in our celebration of the very best local, seasonal produce. He has given cookery demonstrations at many of the UKs finest food shows; adding The Wigtown & Bladnoch Food festival to this list is indeed an honour.”

We are also very pleased to have three local chefs, all ladies who are very talented in their own rights. We have Deborah Firth from the award winning Bed and Breakfast establishment; Hillcrest House, Maria Salzmann who runs a very successful catering and private chef service; Salzmann Catering and last but by no means least we have Helen Bysouth owner/chef of the House o’ the Hill; a lady who is extremely passionate about where ingredients are sourced from.
