    The Frothy Bike Company is a startup bike shop, workshop, licenced café & event space coming to Dumfries in Spring 2019. We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer focused food professional to lead our kitchen.

    Under the same roof, the cafe will compliment the shop, set in a friendly environment, appealing and catering for everyone who walks through the door. The cafe focus will be on serving a select menu of hearty, healthy, locally sourced food for everyone, catering for all manner of dietary requirements.

    With the support of the business owner and Cafe Team Leader, the successful candidate will be asked to develop the brunch/lunch menu on a seasonal basis as well as bring new ideas for specials and occasional evening events.

    Key skills required
    • Minimum of 2 years professional kitchen experience
    • Educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or have gained suitable qualification through experience
    • Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the workings of a commercial kitchen
    • Set up and manage food safety management system (HACCP) and be REHIS Level 2 or equivalent
    • Experienced in budget management, purchasing and developing supplier relationships.

    We have two positions available to fill the role covering 9.30 – 14:30, 7 days per week.

    It is envisaged that one role will fill 5 days and the other 2.5 days on rotation (half a day overlap), however this can be rearranged to suit the best candidates. Salary dependent on experience.

    There will be the opportunity for very occasional evening work for events and there may be scope to extend one role to baking sweet and savory treats for the cafe.
