Galloway Violin Studio, located in the heart of Parton, warmly invites the local community to its annual Spring Concert on Saturday, June 14 at 11:00 AM in the Parton Village Hall.
Under the direction of Cate Howard and accompanied by pianist Sue St. Joseph, students 5-18 years of age will present an engaging mix of classical, trad, and contemporary compositions in violin choirs, trio and quartet settings.
This special event is free to attend, requires no booking, and includes complimentary coffee and tea. There will also be a fundraising raffle!
The Galloway Violin Studio (GVS) has specialised and maintained a high-quality violin/viola instrumental education programme in the Stewartry for 25 years! Locally, GVS students have performed at CatStrand, Loch Arthur, A&E, and the Kirkcudbright Fringe. Farther afield, students have and continue to participate in a variety of Scottish and English youth orchestras. The violin group has hosted numerous workshops with special guest teachers from US, England, and Scotland, including a special workshop with core members of Scottish Ensemble in 2024.
With students travelling from Dumfries, Stranraer, Dalbeattie, Dunscore, Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas and surrounding areas, Galloway Violin Studio stands out for its blend of musical excellence and community spirit. Whether you’re a music lover or simply curious about the vibrant local arts scene, this concert is not to be missed!
