A great evening of Christmas entertainment with a host of exciting local traditional musicians has been organised by Ellisland’s (National Bard Robert Burns’ Farm Near Dumfries) Youth Ambassador Rose Byers.

The event takes place on Saturday, December 14 at 7pm and includes some of the region’s best young performers such Young Burnsian piper Gregor Grierson, fiddler Anna Pearcey and trad band Hestan.

The special guest is the BBC Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Hannah Rarity, whose sublime voice imbues the music she performs with a depth of emotion that is inimitable. It’s this ability that has seen her become one of Scotland’s foremost young singers – she has performed with Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC SSO and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Hannah will be accompanied by the acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Anna Massie, a member of Blazin Fiddles who has played alongside Eddie Reader and Julie Fowlis.

Tickets £10/ £5 children are available from Ellisland and The Midsteeple Box Office.
