Kirstin McEwan, organiser of the competition commented: “We are looking for submissions from people of all ages and are accepting all forms of photography – camera phones, tablets, iPods, digital and film cameras. We hope that the competition will give the community of North West Dumfries the opportunity to show everyoen what it is they love about their local area and let others see the amazing things that happen in Lincluden and Lochside.”

Images are to be sent to the Creative Futures L+L Facebook page or emailed to [email protected]. Photos can be submitted until 5pm on Wednesday 21st February. The exhibition will be the prelude to an exciting new weekly photography club taking place in Lincluden Community Centre starting on Thursday 1st March, which is aimed to inspire and challenge photography skills. During the weekly sessions, participants will learn various skills such as editing photos for social media, creating a portfolio for college or university and learning creative techniques from some of Dumfries and Galloway’s best photographers.
