A poster created for ‘Annie’ which was performed by Stranraer Drama Clubback in 2015, which included a photo of the performers that was taken by local photographer Pete Robinson of P.R Imaging has recently won a top award.
Kyle Anderson from Stranraer Drama Club told DGWGO ” Club Art Director Emma Akiens originally came up with the idea for the photo on the poster which was then taken for us by Pete Robinson (PR Imaging).
Pete, has a real passion for high quality images and is local to Stranraer and is well known for his fantastic Event & Media photography, Once the location of the firescape at the Bollywood Restaurant in the town had been found as the perfect spot to do the photo, Pete did his magic with the image to give it a ‘period feel’.
Our costume dept did the costumes for the Juniors in the photo and I did the poster layout. It took a lot of work by a large group of people, but it really paid off!
The competition for the best poster is organised by SCDA (Scottish Community Drama Association) and is open to all affiliated Clubs within Scotland – The competition runs for the calendar year.
We have now been declared as the winner of the 2015 year’s competition and Eric Wesencraft from the drama club collected the winner’s trophy back in April at the Scottish One-Act Play Finals in Edinburgh.
