A75 CREE BRIDGE DISRUPTION EXPECTED DURING MONTH OF MAY

A75 Cree Bridge

Scotland TranServ, working on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out a programme of works on the Cree Bridge on the A75.

With the road surface coming towards the end of its operational life, the Scotland TranServ team will improve the quality of the surface and waterproof the bridge deck.

This is a significant project over the River Cree that will deliver long-term, tangible benefits for drivers in this part of Dumfries and Galloway.

Work will begin on the 27 April daily for approximately 4 weeks and two way traffic signalling will be in place during this time to protect the operatives working on site and to allow vehicles to cross the bridge safely. From the 8 May works will also take place from 2000 to 0600 each night with a total closure being implemented during these times.

Gordon Wilson, Contract Director for Scotland TranServ Said:
“The health and safety of our workers and of the motoring public are of utmost importance to Scotland TranServ. That is why it will be necessary to implement traffic management and also close the bridge overnight for this programme of works. We would like to take this opportunity to thank local drivers in advance, for their patience.

Across Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland TranServ is continuing to invest on behalf of Transport Scotland to deliver this important improvement programme and deliver long-term tangible benefits supporting commuters, businesses and communities across South West Scotland.”

The diversion for the overnight total closures is as follows:
Eastbound A714, right turn onto King Street – left onto B7079 New Galloway Road, A712 re-join A75.
Westbound right turn onto A712 – left New Galloway Road – left Victoria Street Newton Stewart Roundabout and re-join carriageway.
