JOIN IN AND HELP DUMFRIES CELEBRATE GUID NYCHBURRIS LIKE NEVER BEFORE

We want Dumfries to celebrate Guid Nychburris like it never has before, and get the whole of our community involved in the annual celebrations.

Electric Theatre Workshop are supporting the existing Guid Nychburris Committee to help bring additionality to the annual and traditional event that is the Guid Nychburris Day parade. The aim is not to change the existing model but to reenergise an event that as adults living in Dumfries, we all remember watching as children. Electric Theatre Workshop will use their skills and experiences learned from their own development of the Burns Night Carnival to enhance the current parade model.

We want as many people, community groups, schools, and local businesses to participate in this year’s parade and we would like your help to spread the word by sharing this email with as many people as you can.

Attached is an easy guide in how to take part in the parade and this also has links to additional information such as parade times and meeting points. Electric Theatre Workshop’s Carnival Team will also be facilitating a free workshop in Performance Design on Saturday 16th of May to anyone taking part in the parade. More details of this workshop will be provided once you register for the parade.

If you have any questions about the parade then please feel free to contact us and ask for Justin who will be more than happy to help.

We shall also be holding a Community Partnership meeting to be held at Electric Theatre Workshop, 28 Munches Street next Thursday 30th April from 7pm – 8pm, for anyone to ask questions about the event in person.
