Bird Flu Warning Issued To Poultry and Bird Keepers After Outbreak Near Dumfries

Do you live near Dumfries and keep poultry or birds? Important Information – Please read!

Low pathogenic avian influenza (bird flu) was confirmed near Dumfries on 21.03.2023 and a new LPAI Restricted Zone is in place.

If you live in the zone marked below and keep poultry (chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese…etc) or captive birds (pigeons, birds of prey… etc):

There are restrictions on movements of and products from (including eggs and litter) and gatherings of birds, and licenses may be required

If you own birds and they show signs of disease, please contact your private veterinary surgeon for advice.
