Queen Of The South Ladies Win Friendly Against Draycott Victoria

With a free week in the league, Queens Ladies took on Draycott Victoria Ladies from Derbyshire in a friendly.

In a keenly fought match, Queens were first to score when Holly Ovens intercepted a short pass back and shot across the keeper into the far corner from a tight angle.  Despite the action swinging from end to end, there were no further goals in the first half.

Into the second half and Queens stepped up the pace, and their efforts were soon rewarded with two goals from Megan Masterton in the 47th and 51st  minutes, both powerful strikes from inside the area following some neat build up play.  Cairn Houliston added Queens’ 4th goal in the 54th minute when she took advantage of hesitancy by the Draycott keeper and a defender to nip in and poke the ball home.

Draycott scored a consolation goal in the 80th minute but Queens saw the game out with no further scoring.  FT Queens 4 Draycott 1
