Queens Come Out On Top At Local Derby

Queens Ladies continued their winning league run in a local derby against Annan Ladies on Sunday. Queens got off to a whirlwind start with 2 goals in the first 2 minutes and a 3rd goal after 8 minutes.  Things quietened down slightly after that and at half time the score remained 3-0 to Queens.  The second half saw a further 6 goals from Queens to make the final score 9-0.


Scorers:  Megan Hodgson (1), Alexandra Connon (2, 63), Holly Ovens (8, 56), Eve Jackson (69), Kirsty McDonald (71), Georgia Wilson (80, 88).


With 2 games of the league campaign remaining, Queens maintain their 100% record as they start to prepare for the promotion playoffs which will see 3 of the 4 regional league winners promoted to the next tier.  Queens have been drawn against Harmony Row Ladies, with the tie being played at NWCC on Sunday 4th June.

This Sunday Queens are at home to Stewarton Ladies and the Biffa SWFL (South) League trophy will be presented to the team before the game.  Kick off at NWCC is at 1400 hrs and admission is free.
