POLICE officers from Castle Douglas are investigating the theft of two Cross Shorthorn cattle from a field near Trowdale Farm, Bridge of Urr. The cattle were stolen sometime between Friday 3/Sunday 5 May 2019. The are valued at around £1000 each.

Constable Tommy Patterson said “Checks have been made around neighbouring fields and with local farmer and at this stage we are treating this as a theft as opposed to the cattle having strayed. I am appealing to other farmers in the area to come forward if they have had any similar occurrences recently which they may not have reported to the police. Likewise I would ask anyone who may have any information which might assist in this enquiry to get in touch with us through the 101 number, quoting the reference PDG 0098050519.”
