Gerald Macnamara will be the starter for the Kirkcudbright half marathon this year.
Gerald, who first ran the half marathon as a bet when he was 40 years old had never run in a race before and has since run in all 32 Kirkcudbright Half Marathons to date as well as full marathons in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Crossmichael and the Galloway Marathon in Newton Stewart as well as shorter runs as far away as Australia.
Gerald said ‘I am delighted to be the starter for the Kirkcudbright Half Marathon this year – especiallialy since I am not able to take part’.
