Still Time To Book A Place On Free Agritourism Event In D&g

It’s still not to late to book your place and come along and visit Laggan Farm, Dumfries and Galloway for their Agritourism event being held tomorrow Wednesday the 7th of March 2018.

Scottish Enterprise are organising this event, which are being held as part of Scottish Tourism Month (www.scottishtourismmonth.scot), to showcase best practice in rural tourism and to highlight the impact on farm diversification to the rural economy.

The McConchie Family at Laggan Farm and Mossyard Farms have gone on to make significant investment, employ more people and grow sales and profits since completing the monitor farm project three years ago.

During the monitor farm project the original business split into three separate businesses – the farming enterprise, Mossyard tourism accommodation and Laggan Outdoor.

Find out what’s being going on in these businesses, hear directly from the business owners – Murray, John and Duncan and network with other people with an interest in looking at best practice farm tourism, food tourism and rural tourism in Scotland. Hear from other farmers and tourism operators who were involved in the monitor farm about their experiences over the past three years.

All welcome.

Particularly relevant to rural tourism businesses, farmers, food businesses, economic development representatives, education providers, rural economy professionals, students studying agriculture, tourism, rural economy.

This is a one off business event supported by Scottish Enterprise.

Free to attend, light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Participants must register to attend.

It’s a business event but for everyone interested in the rural economy, farming, tourism and food and drink. It is being held inside the cosy café at Laggan so will be indoors.  As well as hearing from the McConchies we also have four other local business people speaking on the subject of “Changes in my business in the last 3 years and what the future holds.” They are Wilma from Cream o Galloway, Tracey from Roans Dairies, Neil from Solway View Wigwams and Sue from Ross Bay Retreats.

Anyone wishing to come along would be very welcome. Starts at 11am tomorrow, lunch provided.  The link to book is here https://lagganfarmtourismopenday.eventbrite.co.uk
