Dumfries Gets First All Inclusive Play Park After ‘Mum’ Secures £90,000 Funding

The first all inclusive play park including wheelchair accessible equipment and benches at Cargenbridge, Dumfries opened today March the 29th 2019. 

Thanks to local resident and mum of two, 38 year old Emma Currie who managed to secure more than £90,000 in funding to help build a dream park that is accessible to all ages and abilities.

Funders were ANCBC, Hollywood Trust, Southwest Environmental Action Team, Nithsdale Area Committee, Dumfries and Galloway Council and Awards for All Scotland.

Emma told DGWGO Community News  “This has been a very challenging project but seeing all the happy faces of the kids playing today has made it all worthwhile. The support from all the funders, Cargenbridge community, Cargenbridge School and Nursery and my family and friends has been phenomenal and kept me going to make sure this was all possible”
