The Beat the Street competition ended in Dalbeattie( Main Photo) and Annan at 7.00pm on Monday 12 October and beat all previous records for participation.
In Dalbeattie 36% of the population (1625 people) took part and travelled 60162 miles in 6 weeks playing the walking and cycling challenge
In Annan over 39% of the population (3285 people) played the game and walked 122,118 miles.
The Beat the Street campaign was funded by Dumfries and Galloway Council on behalf of the Scottish Governments Smarter Choices Smarter Places Initiative.
The three Dalbeattie teams who won the overall prizes are:
Highest average school – Dalbeattie Primary School
Highest total school – Dalbeattie Primary School
Winning community team – Average – Dalbeattie Explorers
The three Annan teams who won the overall prizes are:
Highest Average Points (School) St Columba’s Primary.
Highest Points total (School) Hecklegirth Primary
