Scotland’s largest rural performing arts festival is now looking to programme great quality live performances for the 2020 event to take place in venues right across the region.
Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival is calling for venues, local performing artists and promoters to get in touch to find out how to get involved in a packed programme of events covering music, theatre, comedy, contemporary dance and spoken word, to be delivered over the ten-day arts festival running 22–31 May, 2020.
This year the region’s arts festival celebrated its 40th Anniversary, programming 50 events in 34 venues across Dumfries & Galloway with some sell-out performances, achieving a rise of 11% in ticket sales and national press coverage.
The festival took place across every postcode of the region in a collaboration with Spring Fling and will again work with Scotland’s premier Open Studio Event (23 -25 May) enabling two of Scotland’s top creative events an opportunity to cross-sell to a wider audience.
Local performing artists, companies, venues and promoters interested in signing up for the 2020 Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival are invited to complete an application form on https://bit.ly/2k6BS2L before the deadline of 4 October.
The charitable organisation is also on the look-out for live performances and venue spaces for the next season of its Arts Live Spring Summer 2020 programme which will kick off at the beginning of April until September. The year-round programme ensures there are opportunities for rural venues to host great quality touring shows, directly contracted by the arts organisation, as well as home-grown talent supported by its Support for Ambition scheme.

Region-wide venues and promoters are invited to attend one of the networking events being held by Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival with the first hosted at the new Millennium Centre in Stranraer on Monday 30 September and then in Lockerbie Town Hall on Tuesday 1 October. This offers an informal networking opportunity, updates on both the Arts Festival and Arts Live opportunities and the support available.
