As Good As Gold At Hazlefield House

A country house B&B in Auchencairn, which offers a tranquil location and unrivalled views to the Solway Firth and Cumbria, has been awarded Four Star Gold status by VisitScotland.

Hazlefield House at Auchencairn has achieved the Four Star Gold B&B grading in recognition of the extremely high standards of visitor accommodation. The ‘gold’ part of the Quality Assurance award represents the continuing attainment of outstanding customer service and hospitality over a number of years.

Hazlefield House offers three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms in a quiet location where guests can make the most of the fine gardens and views of the rural landscape, as well as enjoy the many visitor attractions and walks in the local area.

The B&B is also proud to have a Taste Our Best award for the use of local and quality Scottish produce in its breakfasts and evening meals. Guests can enjoy honey from Hazlefield’s own bees, as well as fresh free-range eggs from their own chickens.

VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance schemes can open the door to new customers. It is a powerful marketing tool and works well with online review sites in using an independent perspective to measure visitor experience against tried and tested criteria, so visitors know exactly what to expect.

Launched in September 2013,Taste Our Best is a joint initiative between the national tourism organisation and the Scottish Government. Assessors rate the overall eating experience, the extent to which Scottish produce (at least 40%) is used and promoted, and staff knowledge of the produce on the menu and its provenance.
