Cairndale Spa Announces Exclusive Partnership with Annandale Distillery

The partners have unveiled a bespoke product line, handcrafted by spa brand Tribe517.

With planned completion of its impressive £2 million, two-storey spa just weeks away, owners of The Cairndale Hotel in Dumfries have unveiled an exclusive spa partnership with the nearby Annandale Distillery, just in time for World Whisky Day on Saturday 18th May.

The unique collaboration will see the release of a bespoke range of whisky and vanilla scented products under the Cairndale x Annandale Collection banner, with its first two products already revealed. The indulgent Angel’s Share Balm and revitalising Reborn Smoothing Scrub will be available as part of the Cairndale Spa’s signature treatments collection, with guests able to purchase the products to take home with them as a lasting reminder of their visit to the South of Scotland.

Each product is a celebration of craftmanship, having been carefully curated and handcrafted by highly experienced Tribe517 founder, Claire Caddick, at the company’s Welsh farm, using vanilla, brown sugar and premium whisky from one of Scotland’s oldest operating distilleries.

The partnership is a major milestone for owners of the Cairndale Spa, who are determined to ensure that the launch of the new 1300 square metre space helps to put Dumfries on Scotland’s tourist map as a leading destination for wellness. It is expected to be the first of several partnerships with local businesses and attractions that seek to highlight the natural beauty and hidden gems of the local region – a move that has been welcomed by South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) who provided 20% of the required funding for the new spa facilities.

SOSE also supported The Cairndale Hotel through its Net Zero Accelerator Fund to install a new heating system to improve heating controls in all rooms, resulting in a gas and electrical usage reduction of up to 30%.

“We are delighted to have been able to create this collaboration with Annandale Distillery,” said The Cairndale Hotel and Spa Director, Matthew Wallace Jnr. “We have huge admiration for the way that they have carefully restored the distillery to produce incredible, premium spirits. To be able to work together, with the invaluable product development support of Claire Caddick and Tribe517, to create something so unique for our spa, that truly reflects the region, is incredible.

“Our team of experienced spa therapists have now joined us and completed their dedicated Cairndale Spa training and they cannot wait to deliver these exclusive signature treatments to our guests,” added Cairndale Spa Manager, Claire Primrose. “The products smell divine and feel extremely luxurious, so we’re confident that our spa guests will love them as much as we do.” Lee Medd, Head of Place Marketing, Tourism Development and Events at Annandale Distillery also expressed his excitement for the project, saying “The opportunity to collaborate with the Cairndale Spa on this unique partnership is an exciting celebration of craftsmanship and of the region of Dumfries and Galloway. We believe that the inclusion of our award-winning spirits in this collection will help to elevate the guests’ sensory experience to another level for a luxury experience.” Professor Russel Griggs, Chair of SOSE, said: “The aim of the recently launched South of Scotland Responsible Tourism Strategy was to make our region a ‘go-to’ rather than ‘go-through’ visitor destination, and to do so we need everyone to work together. That is why it is fantastic to see Cairndale Hotel and Annandale Distillery – both of whom have been supported by SOSE – launching this partnership, which is to be the first of several the Cairndale Spa has lined up with local businesses and attractions.”
