Dumfries & Galloway Trusted Trader scheme is a local business partnership scheme aimed at increasing consumer confidence, promoting good practice, and helping protect citizens from doorstep crime.
Being a member of the Scheme is a good way of showing potential customers that you are a reputable, reliable business. Your customers will be able to leave feedback on your work, so that future customers can see that you provide a quality service.
Businesses that sign up to the Scheme will be vetted by Dumfries & Galloway Trading Standards and you will receive support from us to help you to understand and comply with consumer protection legislation. Businesses will be expected to follow the terms and conditions of the Scheme and will gather feedback from customers to be displayed on the Trusted Trader website.
Your details will be added to a database of Trusted Traders which will be available to the public through the Council’s website. Dumfries & Galloway Trading Standards will promote the scheme to local consumers through the Council’s website, social media, local press and other promotions. In addition to this, we will provide you with marketing materials bearing the Trusted Trader logo that you can use on your vehicles, paperwork and websites.
The Scheme is primarily aimed at the home improvement sector and membership is free. Businesses should be based in Dumfries & Galloway or must be able to prove a reasonable proportion of their business is carried out in Dumfries & Galloway. We do however, welcome enquires from any interested business that offers services within the Dumfries & Galloway area.
