GalloGlas Group and their subsidiary companies are absolutely delighted to announce that they are 1 of only 8 Lowland Region companies to have been awarded the 2021 Silver Award, which is the second highest accolade for their work to support the UK’s armed forces community offered by the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), during a time of uncertainty and challenges posed due to COVID-19 and the impact it had on business.
The ERS encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. Recipients of these awards have been recognised as organisations that have pledged, demonstrated and advocated support to defence and the wider armed forces community, and have aligned their values with the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC).
The Silver award has been awarded based on GalloGlas having met certain criteria that demonstrate what has been done in support to the armed forces community, including:
* Actively supporting the employment for learners upon completion of career courses.
* Proactively promoting the wider armed forces community, Armed Forces Day and Reserves Day.
* Collaborating with Armed Forces Veterans and mental health charities to offer free courses.
* Implementing human resources policies to support Reservists, Veterans, service leavers, the wounded, injured or sick and military spouses/partners.
* Encouraging other organisations to sign the AFC and to progress through the ERS tiers.
