Just Breathe O2 CIC, a leading social enterprise that provides accessible hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to improve health and well-being across the Borderlands community, is proud to announce a significant expansion following a £180,000 investment from Firstport’s Catalyst Fund. Exactly four years to the week after first opening its doors, the organisation will launch its expanded centre at Palmerston Park, featuring a state-of-the-art, 750kg four-person oxygen chamber.
HBOT is a non-invasive, pharmaceutical-free, and exceptionally safe therapeutic option when managed by experts. The service provides life-altering support for:
- Complex Health Conditions: Supporting those living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Fibromyalgia, and Psoriatic Arthritis.
- Cancer Support: Assisting people living with cancer to improve quality of life and resilience.
- Injury Recovery: Speeding up healing for sports injuries, soft tissue damage, and bone breaks.
- General Wellbeing: Managing inflammation and boosting overall cellular health.
In a major logistical milestone, the new specialist chamber is scheduled to arrive on-site via heavy transport on Tuesday, 24th February. While Just Breathe O2 already provides specialist 2ATA (two atmospheres of pressure) therapy, the arrival of this significantly larger unit marks a new era of accessibility for the South West of Scotland. The 750kg chamber not only increases the centre’s capacity to serve more people simultaneously but offers a spacious environment designed to help clients overcome claustrophobia and allow for shared sessions between family members or carers.
Just Breathe O2 remains the only provider of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the entirety of Dumfries and Galloway. Furthermore, it is the only facility within a 100-mile radius providing the specialist 2ATA therapy required for deep tissue recovery.

Expertise Over Profit: A Unique Regional Asset
While commercial oxygen “spas” have grown in popularity globally, there is no other offering—commercial or otherwise—within the region.
Just Breathe O2 distinguishes itself through the 13 years of specialist experience of its Founder and Managing Director, Beth Morrison-Findlay, whose passion is to ensure HBOT is a community asset rather than a money-maker for individuals
Founder Beth Morrison-Findlay is leading the expansion of the only HBOT facility in Dumfries and Galloway. “HBOT is an amazing resource, but it shouldn’t just be for those who can afford high commercial rates,” says Beth Morrison-Findlay. “Our model as a Community Interest Company means this investment is about self-sufficiency and accessibility. We are the only facility of our kind for 100 miles, and we take that responsibility seriously. We are here for everyone—from the athlete with a broken bone to the person managing a complex long-term illness.”
Emily Macdonald, Head of Investment Programmes at Firstport, said: “We are thrilled to continue supporting Beth as she grows the scale and ambition of Just Breathe O2’s work. Having been alongside her since the early days of her social enterprise journey, it’s inspiring to see the business go from strength to strength. This investment from the Catalyst Fund will significantly enhance Just Breathe O2’s capacity, accessibility, and affordability, ensuring even more people across the southwest of Scotland can benefit from Oxygen Therapy.”
A Partnership Built on Community Support
The expansion has been supported by Queen of the South FC, who acted rapidly to modify the facility to house the new 750kg chamber. “Billy, Dan, and the team at the club have been instrumental partners,” added Morrison-Findlay. “Their quick action in preparing our new suite demonstrates their commitment to the health and wellbeing of our local community.”

Grand Opening
Following the installation on the 24th, the expanded facility is scheduled for its Grand Opening in March 2026—marking exactly four years of dedicated service to the region.
