With Dumfries & Galloway struggling to retain our working age population, a key aim of the Galloway Glens Scheme is to work with a variety of local employers to provide genuine work experience opportunities. This will allow our young people to start their working life in the region, with all the benefits this brings.
This week sees the third in the current round of Galloway Glens supported paid intern positions being advertised.
Natural Power Consultants, are a local success story, now established as one of the region’s largest employers. The organisation was founded by Ted Leeming and Stuart Hall in a tenement flat in Glasgow, and now employs more than 400 people around the world, recently celebrating 25 years in business. It has delivered projects in more than 50 countries, amounting to almost 215,000 MW of installed capacity – enough to potentially power more than 134 million homes annually. Their Green House head office near Dalry currently manages more than 28% of UK onshore wind production – equating to 7% of all electricity produced in the UK.
In partnership with the Galloway Glens Scheme, Natural Power Consultants are now recruiting for a Field Technician intern, working in their Construction department on data-gathering in the field. The role would suit someone who likes working outdoors, has Standard grade English and Maths and wants to take their first steps in this exciting sector.
