Stranraer and Wigtownshire Free Press Suspends Print Due to Covid-19 Pandemic

The Stranraer and Wigtown Free Press has been proudly recording the news in South West Scotland for over 175 years through wars and recessions, but like many businesses COVID-19 has had its effect and for a few weeks the long established local paper will not be printed.

In a an annoucemnt made on social media yesterday a spoeksperson for The Free Press stated “We have made the incredibly difficult decision to suspend print for several weeks to account for the challenging climate in relation to COVID-19.
However, we are delighted to have been able to get this week’s paper out to you and if you are able to do so safely, please look out for us in your local shops and newsagents.
We look forward to coming back and continuing to serve the community of Wigtownshire as soon as we can.
Thank you to everyone for your support and we hope you and yours are keeping safe and well.
The Free Press Team”
