Annan’s Black & Gold Foundation Welcome Cunninghame Housing Association’s Community Support

Cunninghame Housing Association has presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Black and Gold Foundation to help assist funding for new equipment.

Annan Athletic Community Football is a self sufficient, self funding wing of Annan Athletic Football Club and an integral part of the umbrella of the Black & Gold Foundation. They are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation and the charitable arm of Annan Athletic Football Club.

The aim of the Black & Gold Foundation is to support and engage as many children and families as possible to have a positive impact on the lives of local families and our local community. With skilled, qualified volunteer Coaches at every age group from age 4 to 16, they have a robust cohort of volunteer coaches who are trained and equipped to coach in a safe, skilled and positive manner.

Annan Athletic Community Football’s coaching scheme is well established with volunteer led football coaching sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and matches played on a Sunday. With around 210 children and young people playing each week it is busy, bustling and brilliant to see. With such extensive use, their equipment needs are substantial, and they require funding for equipment for use at each level, age 4 to 16 years.

Frank Sweeney Group Chief Executive commented

“The Black and Gold Foundation are to be congratulated on their total commitment to engaging with local children and communities to provide sports facilities in the area. This is a tremendous project and we at Cunninghame Housing Association hope that our funding helps the children to enjoy the sport”.

Brian Jardine from the Black and Gold Foundation commented

“I would like to pass on our sincere thanks to Cunninghame Housing Association for their very generous grant of £1,000. These funds will be used to purchase vital new training equipment for our community coaching programme which engages in excess of 210 children and young people. With your support, we can continue to have a positive impact on the lives of local families and our local community.”

Cunninghame Housing Association has a huge social housing development programme in place for Dumfries & Galloway, over the next three to five years, that will provide over 300 homes for rent.

They are also currently building homes in Annan & Lockerbie and all the properties will be available on the Dumfries & Galloway Common Homes Register.
