Dumfries and Galloway College Awarded SCQF Ambassador Status

Dumfries and Galloway College has been made a Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) ambassador college.

Nineteen members of staff from different departments took part in an in-depth workshop training session in order to allow the institution to qualify for ambassador status.

Being an SCQF ambassador college will allow Dumfries and Galloway College to further raise awareness of the wide variety of qualifications it offers, help provide information on what qualifications mean to those who need it, work in alignment with schools, and to continue to support the Scottish Government directive in the Career Education Standard.

The award also presents an exciting opportunity for the college to extend its reach and impact within the local community.

Becoming an SCQF ambassador enhances Dumfries and Galloway College’s commitment to contributing to the local area and to ensuring that local people stay informed about the educational opportunities available at the college.

Principal Joanna Campbell said:

“I am delighted to see Dumfries and Galloway College awarded SCQF ambassador status.

“Both our Dumfries and Stranraer campuses offer an extensive range of courses that allow our students to excel and so communicating what we do is of the utmost importance.

“I look forward to continued cooperation with the SCQF and thank them for coming to our campus to provide this essential training.”
