Nominations Open For Dumfries and Galloway Youth Awards 2019

The Dumfries and Galloway Youth Awards recognise and celebrate our young people.

The awards first took place in 2018, as a round off of the region’s celebrations for the National Year of Young People. They are part of Dumfries and Galloway’s legacy of the year, ensuring that the region continues to recognise and celebrate the involvement, dedication and achievement of young people.

Councillor Adam Wilson, Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Young People’s Champion, said: “We’re delighted to announce the date of the 2019 Youth Awards and I encourage as many people as possible to nominate the amazing young people they think are deserving of an award to recognise their outstanding skills, talents and achievements.”

The Awards evening, which is being fully funded by sponsors, will be at Easterbrook Hall on Thursday 21 November 2019. It will be a spectacular celebration of the successes and achievements of local young people

Treasurer of the Year of Young People Project Team, Hannah Birse, said: “The DG Youth Awards will ensure that we carry forward the legacy for Year of Young People here in Dumfries and Galloway, continuing to celebrate our young people and valuing their incredible contributions to their communities. The Project Team can’t wait to have a look through all of the fantastic nominations.”

Entries are open to any young person [aged 12 to 25] who lives, volunteers or learns in Dumfries and Galloway. Nominations close on Tuesday 1 October 2019.
