Star Hotel Twynholm Launches ‘Pay What You Can’ Sunday Roasts

‘Pay What You Can’ for your Sunday Roast

The Star Hotel in Twynholm have launched their community roasts as part of their Community Connections Project for 2022.

Owner Suzanne Thorne said: “We just thought with times at the moment it would be nice to do something for people to come out and enjoy a good roast dinner in company really.”

“It’s the last Sunday of every month and we serve between 12 and 8.30 and you can book to sit in or you can book to take away and eat at home. ”

“We have the full menu available for those who want it and for the Sunday roast we normally have a choice of two or three freshly cooked roasts. So, typically roast beef or roast pork are the two favourites. ”

People will be provided with an envelope for them to pay what they can for their roast, The envelopes aren’t opened until the end of the day so no one knows who has paid what for their meal.

There is also a solution in place for card payments to remain confidential.

The roasts take place on the last Sunday each month and you can book directly on 01557 860279.

Community Events Throughout The Year

“We’re looking to do a range of events throughout the year as we normally would kind of pre-covid so we’re hoping to have kind of community activities, quiz nights. we’ll also have our annual garden party in August and we’re looking to develop music events as well because they were always really popular in the past.”

The Star Hotel have plans for community arts activities on the first Friday of each month including creating cup candles, gift envelopes, cards and photo candles.
