5 years in the planning, the prospect of a Kirkcudbright skate park was looking gloomy and close to being scrapped due to a lack of engagement from the local community.
A Facebook post alerting the followers to the demise of the project resulted in an excellent turn out in the local community centre for an EGM to get the project back on track. Funding is secured, prospective designs created by CONCREATE and planning permission is in the works to get the skate park built late this year all being well. Fantastic result for the youths of Kirkcudbright.
A Spokesperson from the Skatepark team stated “We are still looking for volunteers, particularly those who would be interested in being a trustee or a treasurer and ask that you get in touch with Laura(chair) via email [email protected]. “
