The charity running Robert Burns’ Ellisland Farm and Museum near Dumfries is looking for volunteers.

The heritage centre is holding a volunteer open day on Wednesday 15th March at 1pm for anyone interesting in supporting the centre, which has been making headlines recently with its events and fundraising initiatives. Tea and snacks will be serviced and existing volunteers will be there to chat alongside staff members.

A range of volunteering roles are available including gardening and maintenance, keeping the museum clean and tidy, visitor services, occasional events support and  educational delivery. All will be described in more detail on the day.

Joan McAlpine, Business Development Manager at Ellisland said: “Ellisland would not survive without the work of our volunteers, who are the lifeblood of our organisation. We have a wide variety of roles, some public facing, some behind the scenes.”

If you are unable to attend but would like to hear more about volunteering at Ellisland, please contact Sarah White at info@ellislandfarm.co.uk.
