Youth Beatz Needz Youz

Youth Beatz is on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June in Dumfries. It’s Scotland’s largest free music festival and around 40,000 young people will attend.

The 2-day music festival is the culmination of a programme of events, including the 7-day regional Fringe Festival and the hard-hitting immersive youth drama, The Toon.

This is the 11th Youth Beatz, delivered by Dumfries and Galloway Council, to provide young people with fantastic opportunities to access a wide range of activities. But, we need help to make it happen.

A wide range of volunteers will be needed to ensure the smooth running of Youth Beatz. There are lots of opportunities to use your skills and experience: performance, production, design, photography, promotion, media, infrastructure, community engagement…

There are lots of exciting volunteering opportunities to suit everyone that can be tailored to fit skills, talents and interests,

Event Volunteers have always been an important part of making Youth Beatz a reality, with 180 people volunteering a total of 9,900 hours at last year’s events, and we are fully committed to working with and supporting our volunteers now, and in future years.

Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Young People’s Champion, Councillor Adam Wilson said: “The continued success of Youth Beatz, Youth Beatz Fringe and the Toon is largely due to the ongoing support and dedication of hard working volunteers and without their time and expertise we couldn’t deliver an event of this scale. I would encourage any adult or young person interested in volunteering to take up the opportunity.”
